Thammasat University sponsored a panel discussion on &#8220;Tourism in Southeast Asia&#8221; at the Tha Prachan Campus. Mr. John Koldowski who is our lecturer and a part of the college&#8217;s Tourism Action Group, opened the panel with an overview on tourism market forces and current issues. Professor Dr. Walter Jamieson who led the ASEAN marketing and strategic planning teams and is Director of our Service Innovation Program, talked about strategic planning directions and challenges within the region. Then, Dr. Mark Hampton, author of Backpacker Tourism Economic Development (Routledge, 2013) from University of Kent discussed economic development and tourism in Southeast Asia.
